Adolf Hitler was born on 20th April, 1889, in the small Austrian
town of Braunau near the German border. Hitler was the
dictator of Germany from 1934 to 1945 and leader of the National Socialist
German Workers' Party, known as the Nazi Party. He took advantage of Germany's
economic hardships and the bitterness of its citizens after World War I to
attract followers, eventually taking complete control of the country. Adolph Hittler was the most ambitious chancellor of Germany during the period of the World War II.
What is Holocaust?
The word Holocaust comes from the Greek: "Holos'' meaning completely and "kaustos" meaning burned sacrificial offering. Six million were murdered, including 1,500,000 children. This event is called the Holocaust.The largest group of victims were Jewish people. Most of the victims were killed because they were homosexuals, had some diseases or belonged to religious groups which the Nazis wanted to wipe out. This kind of killing is called genocide.
